Our key ministries are organized using the Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, as described by Robert Schnase. We don’t have these practices mastered; we practice them in our effort to remain a healthy, vital church:
Forney Commity Ministries (FCM): In 2018 we joined with other community partners to form a new non-profit. Our primary involvement is School Uniforms and School Supplies, which we offer directly to families in need and also deliver to Forney ISD campuses. We are a founding partner and part owner of: www.forneycommunity.org
Community Garden: We grow vegetables in a garden on our property behind the church. We donate the proceeds to the local food pantry.
Blessings and Backpacks: In August 2010 we started our largest single annual mission project. We coordinate with the local schools to provide backpacks with selected school supplies, uniforms and books to approximately 200 local school children. We gladly accept school uniforms you no longer need. Call our office to donate school uniforms for our Forney schools.
Food Pantry: We collect canned goods and donations each month for the local food pantry.
Advent Stocking Christmas: At the beginning of each Advent we assemble stockings with hygiene supplies to benefit various local groups.
We have been blessed to be a blessing. Over 25% of our annual budget goes to financially support missions and ministries (things other than building, salaries and internal programs).
We try to practice radical hospitality like Jesus did, by opening our doors, our hearts and our arms to all those we meet.
We were created to praise and glorify God, so worship is our key ministry. To read more about our worship, see Our Worship
We have two bible studies during the week in addition to Sunday School. Pastor David teaches occasional group classes. New studies are always an option.
